Viacom Falls in Love with Joost and and dumps Youtube
I just read Garett Rogers blog on What google is up to and he posted an interesting news: "Viacom falls in love with Joost, ditches youtube", and here what he says:
Do you remember when Viacom requested their videos be yanked from Google’s YouTube a couple weeks ago? Well, it looks like Viacom is now creating a relationship with the buzz-heavy "Joost" (I have a few invitations if you want one). This turn of events must be a huge disappointment to Google since this same content probably made them a lot of money.
Joost really could change the game if they continue to sign these major networks. Who knows, maybe AppleTV will one day include the player (now available for the mac too) on its hard drive that seems to be getting a lot of attention lately.
I guess the market of Video on Demand is shifting here towards direct-ip service… good luck youtube..
