Google & Free Music in China!
Yeah, I know… that is a sudden surprise move by Google. But I think it is time for Google / Yahoo /etc to change its strategy to take ove the Far East Asia market. We all know about Google & Yahoo failed attempts to take over the Search / Ads online market in China, S. Korea, and Japan. That is because, they were trying to implement identical services they have back in West.
Well, Here is the new strategy by Google: Google is on the verge of a significant breakthrough in offering music over the Web in China… that’s what WallStreet Journal says…… And if this new plan works, then it will work across Asia.
Google is close to launching joint venture with a Chinese online music company to provide free (licensed..) music downloads in China… And by doing so, it is getting into Baidu’s game… In case if you didn’t know, that is how Baidu has beaten Google in China… by offering its users free music downloads..
Here is the funny thing, though there are legal complications about Baidu giving users free music downloads…. Baidu has continued to thrive withouth a single punishment.. While Yahoo got punished severely in something related by the Chinese gov’t…. Talking about being Bias?
Oh well, let’s watch and see…
