Facebook might be spreading to China

Now that will be a huge step for Facebook if it was able to conquer that side of the market, though it won’t be easy to fight since many other great ones "i.e. Yahoo" tried and failed miserably!

Well, here is the story: There were so many rumors that Facebook would enter China market by acquisition instead of starting fresh "similar to Yahoo alternative plan after its failure", and it has offered $85 million to acquire Zhanzuo.com but that rumor was denied by Facebook Director of Communication on techcrunch. Though the other rumor that did not fade was that Li Ka-Shing, a Hong Kong tycoon, will invest $60 million in Facebook, which undoubtedly arises the speculation on possible partnership between Facebook and Tom.com, an Internet assets of Li Ka-Shing.

Well, the whole issue of Facebook spreading to China is back again. Shuimuzhouping, VP of Fenbei.com "Social Music Site", claims that Gideon Yu, CFO of Facebook, visited Fenbei’s office in Beijing today, and propose an offer of 15.39 million to fully acquire Fenbei.com.

Anyway, if facebook is able to succeed in the Far East "China, S. Korea, Japan, etc "the way it succeeded in the West "Smaller market", then that will ultimately make Facebook the king of Social Networks. But, honestly, I don’t think that will be an easy one at all. Facebook execs need to realize that the Social communities in Far East behaves differently than Western ones.

I will be discussing "Social Communities Behavior in the Far East" sometime later on next week, stay tuned!
