CBS Investigator Confirmed RATHER-Bush Draft Dodging Report Was True
Rather and Mapes discovered that Rigler’s investigation had uncovered corroboration for their story. Rather’s complaint states that “after following all the leads given to him by Ms. Mapes, he (Rigler) was of the opinion that the Killian Documents were most likely authentic, and that the underlying story was certainly accurate.”

And here is a comment:
Good for Mr. Rather. If the document was in fact a forgery, I thought of a conspiracy theory (i.e. take with a giant grain of salt) that Karl Rove could have obtained the original document and had it transcribed via computer, then have it sent to CBS News with the intent to 1. discredit an embarrassing truth about Bush so he would regain the Presidency, and 2. get Dan Rather fired.
On a different incident which I also have a Rovian conspiracy theory, Cynthia McKinney, the black congresswoman who had a scuffle with Capitol police, had previously held a meeting to discuss the truth about 9/11. I saw her in an online video from that meeting which I think was held about 9-12 months before she got in trouble for not showing her ID at the Capitol building. If she had regularly been able to pass through Capitol security because they knew she was a congresswoman, then if Karl Rove somehow got the Capitol Police to one day make her show her ID to enter the Capitol Building, he could have done that to stop her from getting to the truth of 9/11. If Congresswoman McKinney refused to show her ID, then she would have gotten into trouble with the police thus causing her to lose her seat in the next election. That is what happened to her after the ID incident. If Ms. McKinney would have just shown her ID to the police, then Rove’s effort wouldn’t have cost him much and he would have found some other way to get rid of her.
But once again, those are just my wild conspiracy theories with no evidence that that is why Mr. Rather was fired or Ms. McKinney lost her seat in Congress.
