Better Junk filtering with Live mail than Gmail?
This is getting really interesting. I have gmail account setup with Windows Live Mail desktop application, and Live desktop mail was able to identify the junk mails more than gmail.
Though, Windows live mail is just a GUI and it does not consult with a database of junk-related source list. So How is that possible?
According to their blog, they are using several technologies and thresholds to deliver that kind of junk filtering accuracy. To test the combinations of technologies of filtering, Microsoft team turned their live Hotmail into a sandbox for weeks to test it up. Though, I am pretty sure many Hotmail users complained at that time regarding that, but overall they just should be happy now.
I wonder why gmail team is going to setup their notch now.
